Located on the east side of Coeur d'Alene Lake in Idaho, this house is sited to take advantage of views toward the lake. The massing of the house is arranged into 3 main clusters to separate the functions of the home, to reduce the scale of the spaces and to provide a south facing interior courtyard. The bedroom wing is flanked by a recording studio wing to the north and the main living wing to the south. The recording wing is designed with special acoustical and cooling requirements. The living wing is the only 2 story space in the house, with a recreational room above and outdoor deck to capture distant vistas.
