NOW HIRING: FULL-TIME ARCHITECT OR DESIGNER

We seek a full-time employee to join our design team. You should be eager to learn, creative, flexible, and able to engage a variety of projects and tasks. We need someone passionate about creative exploration and up to the challenge of problem-solving in design, ready to guide a project from initial sketch to housewarming party. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a strong interest in both architecture and landscape architecture, with the relevant education and experience.

Required

  •  Professional degree
  •  5+ years of experience, preferably in smaller scale and residential work
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD (or other BIM software), SketchUp, and Adobe software suite

  • Creative thinking tempered with strong technical knowledge

  • Focus on thoughtful detailing

Extras

  • Architectural licensure or working towards completion
  • Educational background or equivalent experience in landscape architecture
  • Willingness to work in the Friday Harbor office


The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience working on custom residential architecture or small scale public work in a small firm, and is looking for a full-time job in a fun, collaborative environment with the chance to use and develop a broad array of skills and knowledge. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable with the residential construction process, and who is well rounded in all aspects of project delivery including design, presentation, construction documents, and construction administration. Experience or interest in landscape architecture, including its unique challenges and how it can be best integrated with building architecture, is a major plus.
 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting annual compensation range is $70k - $100k, DOE.
  • General paid time off, accrued per paycheck, starting at a total of 19 days annually.
  • Health insurance, including dental and vision coverage, and a SIMPLE IRA plan with company matching (both available after an initial orientation period).
  • Annual continuing-education stipend.
